Ensuring the safety and security of Indonesia is a key priority for us. This objective cannot be met by Indonesian government and us alone. Partnership is key to ensuring this security. Only through working with mass organizations, and through effective cooperation with them, can we achieve the goal. We firmly believe that it is therefore in our shared interest to understand the threat posed by radicalism and terrorism—and to understand the strategy for confronting it. Building the capacity of the Indonesian mass organization in fighting radicalism and terrorism is our way in building the resilience of the Indonesian people against Terrorism. It is our important contribution to the establishment of partnership between Indonesian citizens and government in securing Indonesia from radicalism and terrorism threats.

We work with the mass organizations striving to protect Indonesian society from falling into the traps of radicalism and terrorism. These organizations promote peaceful values of religions and local wisdoms. Since our establishment, we have mostly worked with major organizations such as Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama in addition to helping with the small ones.

Our capacity building assistance to the organizations includes:

  • Training them with the knowledge and skills needed to monitor the dynamics of radical and terrorist groups.
  • Providing them with our most up to date research findings.
  • Training them with the knowledge and skills required to counter radical and terrorist propaganda and to run public campaign against the spread of radicalism and terrorism.
